The “Pandoteira” project, in collaboration with the Municipality of Limassol presented the event: “Natura 2000: Awareness and information of stakeholders”. The event took place on September 27, 2022.
The event started at 19:00 at the Municipal Hall with a greeting from the mayor Mr. Nikos Nikolaides who, among other things, emphasized the importance of the Natura 2000 areas and mentioned the challenges of climate change.
Afterwards, in the framework of Action E2.1, the actions of the “Pandoteira” project and Natura 2000 Network were introduced to the Municipal Council and the attendants. Moreover, additional information was offered regarding the clusters, which have been divided in 63 areas of the Natura Network 2000 through “Pandoteira”, as well as the important areas that are included in the Network and are located near the Limassol Municipality.
At the same time, potential opportunities for the involvement and participation of interested parties and the public were also presented.
The action of this project is led by Terra Cypria – the Cyprus Foundation for the Protection of the Environment (Action E2.1 Organization of information and awareness activities for targeted stakeholders).
