Although the relevance of Christian belief to environmental protection had been raised a few years earlier, notably by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomeos (1940- ), this is the first Cypriot publication on the matter and includes a seminal paper by H.G the Metropolitan Ioannis of Pergamum, which remains topical to this day (Greek only).
