The “Pandoteira” project organized a hike combined with birdwatching on Sunday, September 24th, at Cape Greco. The area is one of the most important bird migratory pathways in Cyprus and part of the Natura 2000 network.

During the birdwatching, we spotted the Cyprus wheatear and the Cyprus warbler, which are both endemic, as well as several migratory bird species, including birds of prey.

Following this, a brief presentation about the “Pandoteira” project, the species encountered in the area, and its importance within the Natura 2000 network was provided. Participants also had the opportunity to visit the aquarium and exhibition space at the Cape Greco Environmental Information Center free of charge.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Cyprus Game and Fauna Service, the Cyprus Ornithological Society, and the Municipality of Ayia Napa.
