In August, we carried out two educational meetings with teams of scouts at the Happy Valley scout camp in Limassol district. The first one took place on 09/08, when we met with approximately 30 individuals from the 27ο Limassol Sea Scouts system, while the second one was conducted on the 23rd of August with approximately 15 individuals from 253ο Agios Ioannis Scout system.
As part of the meetings, we presented information on the conservation status of the Griffon vulture in Cyprus and the activities of the “Life with Vultures” project. During the open discussion that followed we had the opportunity to further explain the effects of poisons on wild animals, the efforts of the competent authorities, and the contribution of each one of us towards protecting and preserving this rare species. At the same time, we conducted a field visit to the nearby cliffs for birdwatching and manage to observation Eleanor’s falcon with binoculars.
Additionally, we visited two communities, Kouklia on 09/08 and Eledio on 23/08.
