Our efforts to save Akamas continue, and within the last month, we reacted with press releases and our publications regarding the events in the area. On April 16, 2025, we await the session of the Ad hoc committee for the Special Ecological Assessment, where all projects that need to align with the legally binding and substantive laws already in place, as well as the Ministry’s decisions, are expected to be re-evaluated.
At the same time that the evaluation of the projects is anticipated, new illegal refreshment kiosks are being observed within the protected areas, and it appears that the competent authorities are unable to enforce the existing legislation.
