Following the conclusion of its 60th meeting, our Foundation’s Board of Directors conducted an on-site visit to Akamas to observe firsthand the interventions that have taken place within the Akamas National Forest Park and the protected Natura 2000 areas.
The situation witnessed by the Board members was particularly concerning and disheartening, raising serious concerns about the future of one of Cyprus’s most important natural treasures.
Their message is clear: Akamas must be protected by every possible means. Preserving its unique ecological, natural, and cultural value is a collective responsibility, ensuring that it is passed on intact to future generations.
We must safeguard Akamas as the apple of our eye, not only for today, but also for tomorrow.
