Students of the 6th grade at Pera Oreinis Primary School had the opportunity to enjoy a unique educational experience through an activity organized by our Foundation in collaboration with the Cyprus Dragonfly Study Group, as part of the 2nd Pediaios Sustainability Festival.

During the activity, the children were introduced to the fascinating world of dragonflies, learning about their life cycle, physiology, and the important role they play in ecosystems, especially in wetlands. Through an interactive presentation and discussion, they discovered why dragonflies are important indicators of the health of aquatic ecosystems and how they contribute to maintaining biodiversity.

A highlight of the session was the observation of specimens using stereoscopes, giving the children the chance to explore details not visible to the naked eye and to get a close look at the unique characteristics of these impressive insects.
