Environmental Caretakers is a project of the Technical Committee on Environment, led by Terra Cypria and Taşkent Nature Park. It is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with OSASG-Cyprus.
With an aim to bring young people and environmental enthusiasts from across the island together, this initiative provides the skills and tools to identify, document and raise awareness on pressing environmental issues faced on the Island; all the way from protecting biodiversity and improving animal welfare to addressing air pollution, climate change and littering. Through workshops, engaging educational materials and a new digital platform featuring GIS mapping, people are supported in learning, connecting and taking action for the environment.
The Environmental Caretakers project aims to inspire greater environmental awareness, strengthen youth capacity, and encourage active participation across the island. By providing an open resource hub and promoting collaboration, Environmental Caretakers helps turn knowledge into positive environmental action for a more sustainable future in the island of Cyprus.
