Last Saturday, as part of European Mobility Week, we organised a cycling route in Limassol to experience first-hand the conditions cyclists face in the city every day.
During the route, we cycled through Garyllis Linear Park, identifying and recording obstacles and points that make safe cycling more difficult, using the “Dimotis Lemesou” app.
We also visited the site where the future mobility hub is planned to be developed, where the Mayor of Limassol, Mr Yiannis Armeftis, presented the relevant plans. Participants expressed their interest and support for this positive development, which can contribute to strengthening sustainable urban mobility in Limassol.
The activity concluded at the green area next to the Garyllis Delta, where we held a discussion with the participants. There was great interest, and the discussion highlighted cyclists’ concerns and experiences regarding the existing cycling lanes and cycling infrastructure in Limassol.
Cycling requires safe, continuous and functional infrastructure. We listen to those who use the city every day and advocate for better conditions for sustainable mobility.
