The Cyprus Environmental Studies Centre (CESC) – Terra Cypria started renewed in 2022, with even greater motivation and ambition. The Centre’s goals for educating students and other groups, its active work in the field of project implementation, with the environment as the main subject, and our whole effort to support the local communities of the greater Akamas area, were strengthened by the signing of an agreement with the Community Council of Kathikas for the use of the Akamas Regional Multipurpose / Cultural Center last October.
With the ease up of the measures against the pandemic, our standard educational activities have slowly began.
The first school group was hosted at the Kathikas Centre, at the beginning of February, with great success and leaving the students and the teachers fully satisfied, both for the lesson and for the facilities and operation of the Centre.
We have welcomed private schools that carried out their fieldwork as part of the IGCSE exams and created new courses to meet their needs, thus offering more options in terms of lessons.
In addition, we visited many primary schools to teach and raise awareness about sea turtle conservation, which is part of our partnership with Medasset – Mediterranean Association to Save the Sea Turtles.
