“Active Minds” workshop aims at promoting active citizenship. The workshop will take place on 18 and 19 March 2023 at the Cultural Centre in Kampos of Tsakistra and is open to all young people from 18 to 40 years old who are interested in becoming more active and responsible citizens.

The “Active Minds” Programme is implemented by the Office of the Citizens’ Commissioner and the National Betting Authority. The organisation and implementation of trainings of the third workshop has been undertaken by the Terra Cypria Foundation.

The aim of the third workshop is for participants to take part in activities that will enrich them with knowledge about the qualities of citizenship and encourage them to become more active and responsible citizens. Citizenship is the ability to participate fully in public and social life, to act responsibly and to understand social, economic, legal and political concepts and institutions, as well as global trends and sustainability.

The third workshop of the Active Minds programme is designed to provide participants with the necessary skills they need to be able to bring about positive change in their social environment. Through a series of group activities, participants will gain knowledge about the environment, biodiversity, the coexistence of protected species and people, urbanism, local products and the role of active citizenship in promoting social change within their community.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend presentations by experienced trainers as well as interact with local producers who will introduce them to the process of producing local products and their usefulness in ensuring community sustainability. At the end of the workshop, participants will have a better understanding of the importance and role of active citizenship and how one can cultivate skills of responsible citizenship.

The Active Minds consortium has as a top priority to cultivate and develop the skills and critical thinking of young people for a technologically advanced, human-centred and better tomorrow. We invite all young people and all young people who wish to create a better tomorrow by taking care of “today” to participate in the third workshop of the Active Minds programme.
