Οn Friday, 15 March 2024 we attended the workshop on the Native Cattle Breed in Cyprus at the Cyprus Institute. The event was co-organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment and BirdLife Cyprus, with the support of the Cyprus Institute, as part of the Darwin Plus project: “Habitat Restoration and Sustainable Use for Akrotiri and Cape Pyla”.
The workshop aimed to bring together all stakeholders on the conservation and promotion of the native cattle breed in Cyprus, through projects, research, funding, etc.
The speakers presented their activities followed by a Tasting of Native Cattle Breed Meat by the Technical Cooking Schools of the Ministry of Education. The workshop ended with a discussion focused on ways and actions to promote and use the cow in climate change conditions as well as ways to promote the local breed’s products.
