We are strengthening the pan-European climate action network and opening communication channels with Cypriot MEPs.
On 27 April we travelled to Brussels and attended the general assembly of Climate Action Network (CAN) Europe. We met our climate action partners and attended interesting lectures on European climate policy.
At the same time, we met with the AKEL’s MEP, Mr. Georgios Georgiou, and with EDEK’s MEP, Mr. Dimitris Papadakis. During the meetings, we conveyed our concerns about the implementation of climate actions in Cyprus and sought ways in which they can help us in exerting political pressure for even more ambitious actions.
This action is taking place through the current project with the European Climate Foundation that gives us the opportunity to push for Cyprus’ transition to a green economy by 2050.
