As part of the Pandoteira project, our foundation organized a special birdwatching experience in Peyia on March 15, 2025, in collaboration with the Game and Fauna Service and BirdLife Cyprus. The event gave participants the chance to observe the region’s diverse birdlife up close and learn about the importance of its conservation.
During the event, attendees observed seabirds such as European Shags and Yellow-legged Gulls through telescopes, while experts explained the significance of monitoring these species. Some participants took part in a scientific boat tour, while children engaged in creative activities aimed at fostering environmental awareness in the younger generation.
The event was an opportunity for the public to learn more about these two seabird species and the monitoring efforts carried out by our team.
Through this initiative, the importance of protecting the species within the Natura 2000 protected area was highlighted, along with the crucial role of scientific data collection in ensuring their conservation.
