Participants made stops to observe local species, engage in discussions about urban greening and biodiversity, and even conducted a simple experiment: comparing the temperature of pavements in the sun versus in the shade. The results clearly demonstrated the crucial role that green spaces play in mitigating the urban heat island effect and fostering a healthier environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event was part of Environmental Caretakers, an initiative of the Technical Committee on Environment.
