The 2nd Spring Festival of Akrotiri was successfully completed with visitors learning more about the rich natural and cultural value of the Akrotiri Peninsula, whilst experiencing the area’s beauty.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area, known for its high environmental and cultural value, hosts the largest natural wetland complex in Cyprus and is recognised for its biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the festival, interactive activities took place across the peninsula, including bird ringing demonstrations, bird watching, basketry and cyanotype workshops, educational games, crafts for children, and hiking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through these activities, participants were given the opportunity to explore the rich natural heritage of Akrotiri and learn how we can best protect it, as its conservation is necessary for us all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project partners are BirdLife Cyprus (leading role), Terra Cypria-The Cyprus Conservation Foundation, the Cyprus Sovereign Base Areas Administration \u2013 Environment Department (SBAA ED) and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
