{"id":275,"date":"2020-12-07T10:14:35","date_gmt":"2020-12-07T08:14:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/terracypria.org\/restoration-law-during-the-public-consultation-terra-cypria-submitted-comments-and-suggestions-to-the-european-committee\/"},"modified":"2023-02-14T19:44:13","modified_gmt":"2023-02-14T17:44:13","slug":"restoration-law-during-the-public-consultation-terra-cypria-submitted-comments-and-suggestions-to-the-european-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/terracypria.org\/tr\/restoration-law-during-the-public-consultation-terra-cypria-submitted-comments-and-suggestions-to-the-european-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"Restoration Law: During the public consultation, Terra Cypria submitted comments and suggestions to the European Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The European Commission proposes a new regulation for the restoration of ecosystems.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The aim of the so-called \u201crestoration law\u201d is to set binding targets for the restoration of ecosystems on land and sea.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>During the public consultation, Terra Cypria submitted comments and suggestions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Inter alia, Terra Cypria Suggested:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Large-scale<\/strong>&nbsp;rehabilitation throughout the European Union.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Objectives should be&nbsp;<strong>binding<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>specific<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>quantified<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>realistic<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>achievable<\/strong>&nbsp;and with a&nbsp;<strong>time frame<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To build on the existing obligations of the relevant European Union directives but to&nbsp;<strong>strengthen<\/strong>&nbsp;them and&nbsp;<strong>fill the gaps<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To oblige Member States to draw up&nbsp;<strong>National Restoration Plans<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>National rehabilitation plans must be binding for the Member State,\u00a0<strong>evaluated<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>approved<\/strong>\u00a0by the European Commission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-background wp-element-button\" href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/assets\/2020_12_07-TC-comments-Nature-Restoration-TargetsEnglish.pdf\" style=\"background-color:#517936\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">See the Suggestions Here<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The European Commission proposes a new regulation for the restoration of ecosystems.
